Coastside on Bikes is concerned with providing bicycle access for those in our community who most rely on them for transportation.

Through partnerships with local social services agencies, namely Abundant Grace Coastside Worker, Coastside Hope, Ayudando Latinos a Soñar (ALAS), and local elementary schools, we provide bike repair and donated bicycles to clients of these agencies who are in need of a bike. Since 2022 we’ve re-homed over 200 bikes!

We focus on the following:

  • matching donated bikes with those in the community in need of a bicycle

  • bringing volunteer bike mechanics to work on participants' bikes at Abundant Grace

  • refurbishing donated bikes

  • engaging in advocacy work for trails and safe streets on the Coastside

  • conducting safe riding events such as bike rodeos and educational outreach

  • Have a Bike to Donate?

Do you have an old bike that could use a new home? We can refurbish your old bike for someone in our community to use in order to get to work or school. Please be in touch if you have a bike to donate!

  • Volunteer Mechanics

Put your bike skills to work in the community! We are looking for mechanics of any level to volunteer the first Sunday each month from 8:15-11:15. Please contact us to sign up.

  • Support Our Work

Want to help support us? We have a constant need for consumables and tools in order to continue our bike refurbishment and community repair events.

  • Abundant Grace

Abundant Grace transforms lives through our job-readiness programming: taking people experiencing homelessness to grow and harvest over 20,000 pounds of fresh, organic produce for free distribution to low-income families at our Full Circle Food Justice Program; and to clean up the environment of the beaches and trails of Half Moon Bay on the Coastside Clean Team. We are doing good, meaningful work together; we are making a difference in our community; we are transforming our very selves.

  • ALAS

Ayudando Latinos A Soñar or ALAS is a Latino centered nonprofit organization that began as a grassroots program in 2011. We are a recognized California Nonprofit, 501c3. The organization was born from the desire to help children and their families to feel proud of their identity and culture and amplify their voices. ALAS Founding Board of Directors continues to work tirelessly to pursue this vision in what has become a communal space of support, honoring the cultural strengths that thrive in our Latino coastal community.
